With over 30,000 personnel, the Royal Navy operates worldwide across sea, air, and land. From aircraft carriers and submarines to specialist roles in aviation and diving, its people deliver operational effect in the most challenging environments.
HPO Technologies was commissioned to explore how software could support candidates joining the Royal Navy by educating, engaging, and preparing them for service. This has since evolved into a digital operating system with specialist pathways for roles such as submariners, divers, and sponsored medical candidates. The system delivers tailored preparation, assessment, and communication tools, ensuring candidates are connected, informed, and ready for the challenges of their chosen path.
Challenge
High assessment failure rates and training injuries reducing the number of candidates progressing through recruitment and Royal Navy Initial Training.
Solution + Implementation
HPO created a bespoke performance system that builds physical readiness, enables direct communication with the force, and provides a single trusted source of health and wellbeing guidance to improve resilience and reduce injuries.

Impact
Increased candidate success, clearer communication, and stronger alignment across MOD recruiting and Phase 1 training stakeholders.
